They have a recurring issue of peoples art being stolen out of buildings! It has happened to multiple friends and theyve done nothing to help. You shouldnt display your art in the buildings unless you are comfortable losing it. Honestly Id look elsewhere.
The longer you stay here the more awful information you find out. Their response to COVID was mediocre at best, and it consistently feels like this school only wants to bleed money out of it's students and nothing more. The faculty is great and Ive learned so much but the administration is so poor it ruins the experience. SCAD is always out to get you and make you pay more in school.
Advising doesn't know anything about the programs they support, and more often they tell you the wrong information. This will generally mean you have to complete another year at SCAD so they can get money. Be prepared to always fight for your scholarships as they love to take them away.
Definitely worth the money with those gen-eds out of the way. Waiting for the day I get salmonella from the chicken. If you're a socialite you're going to realize very quickly that everyone knows everyone SCAD is a great school, but an easy way to lose a lot of money very fast.
Some tips: do your first year at community college, don't pay for the dorms or the meal plans, and don't come here if you're not very very into your major.
The professors, academic facilities, and resources are top notch, but again; do not waste money on freshman year. Ads can be annoying, but they allow us to provide you this resource for free.

SCAD was recently ranked as the 1 art school in America. My main lesson I learnt at this college is that never expected the class with teach you anything useful. Good school overall, but doesn't have the charm like the Savannah campus.
Depending on your major, if its beneficial for you to be in a big metropolitan area, then Atlanta campus is nice as you have more job opportunities while going to school.
If your major is more fine arts, Savannah campus is the way to go. I was able to learn a lot at this school, and I loved the free and open atmosphere. For example, when I searched on Google, the acceptance rate is 96 percent, and a question comes up asking if this school is a scam. I think this school deserves a better reputation than that. There's great facilities, great resources, and a great location, but with some seriously under-qualified professors in certain digital media departments.
Come for the professional network and resources then learn your course material online. Go somewhere else. It takes longer than a week to resolve any issues that are had with any aspect. I am currently dealing with them in regard to a malfunctioning computer, due to a virus from their computer and I have online classes, now. I will not be able to complete the work. I enjoy and cherish the friendships ive made here and I genuinely dont want to leave!
Hit or miss with some professors, and not a lot of social events happening. Also the food is terrible. There were much more things to do and it was much more convenient and the buses were always on time!
They do have vending machines on the hk campus and serve food during lunch but it's first come first served. You need not to worry about food hk has restaurants literally everywhere. I think that school is trying to give a student a good opportunity in a variety of sides. However, a student doesn't know that information themselves. It's very small campus, you can have just one or two professors for your major. You will love here if you're not in fine art major, if you are, go to Savannah campus.
Also, I don't recommend transferring to here because you're going to be a stranger if you can't try hard to make friends. Not a good place for the nontraditional student. I had a few profs that were awesome, but also a few terrible and rude ones who will rip into you at their whim. If you have an issue with a professor, good luck. It is overpriced. The career help has been terrible.
I would probably go anywhere else for Graphic Design. Way behind with web design. The facility is gorgeous and all the classrooms have personalities of their own.
And its in the middle of Atlanta, which means you're close to some awesome restaurants, shops, and parks. This is my first quarter here and I think its wonderful. Ive gotten to meet a lot of unique people and my professor push me to do better.
This school has got me to get out of my comfortable. The Atlanta campus is not as nice as the Savannah campus. Feels more like a commuter orientated community college. If you want to guarantee that your hard work will turn into a rewarding career, this is the place to go. Expect to pay a substantial amount and work harder than you ever have in your life.
